At Belle of the Oaks, our highly qualified staff has years of experience in helping women overcome their drug and/or alcohol addiction and go on to live healthier, happier lives. Furthermore, we recognize that substance abuse problems and chemical dependency are often accompanied by mental health disorders, which is why our staff is also fully equipped with the knowledge to treat a multitude of psychiatric and behavioral health disorders. In addition to providing continuing care for substance abuse and dependency, Belle of the Oaks treats the following:

  • Gambling addiction
  • Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)

  • Eating disorders
  • Bipolar disorder
  • Personality disorders

The clinical treatment staff at Belle of the Oaks is composed of a dietitian, nurses, counselors, a social worker, and medical doctors. Specialized staff members include an exercise therapist and a nutritionist. Throughout the duration of the extended care program each client will engage in a variety of treatment methods and modalities that will not only address substance abuse concerns but any other disorder that may be present. The following treatment methods are implemented as part of this extended care program in order to further treat any substance abuse concerns and co-occurring mental health issues:

  • Individual therapy – held at least once a week by counselor, but it is ultimately dependent on each client’s personal needs
  • Family therapy – held at least once per month, with family receiving weekly updates
  • Group therapy – including topics such as relapse prevention, codependency, process group, substance abuse education, parenting, Moral Reconation, health and nutrition, employment skills, life skills, and relaxation skills
    • Phase I (30 days) – two sessions per day
    • Phase II (30 days) – one session per day
    • Phase III (30 days) – three sessions per week
  • Case management
  • Recreation therapy
  • Medication management
  • 12-step meetings and workshops
  • Recovery networking
  • Aftercare planning

The Belle of the Oaks program runs on a three-phase treatment program, with an average length of staying being 90 days; 30 days for each phase. However, advancement and graduation from the program are subject to the client’s compliance with the program. Whatever your specific needs may be, the staff at Belle of the Oaks will put forth the effort to make sure you are completed cared for while being eased back into society. We can offer women the support and guidance necessary to grow, overcome addiction and mental health concerns, and continue to improve the overall quality of life.

  • Located in Lafayette, Louisiana, Belle of the Oaks is a 12-bed extended care program that provides chemical dependency services for women in a supportive and peaceful environment. Within this innovative program, women can address the issues and concerns that arise while learning to exist within a sober society.

    Belle of the Oaks sits by the Vermilion River and the grounds are surrounded by magnificent oak trees. While participating in this program, clients will reside in a comfortable log cabin, which is equipped with a large dining and living area, kitchen, and laundry room. This is a beautiful and peaceful place where women can go to continue their recovery and build upon the progress they have made in their previous inpatient treatment program.

    At Belle of the Oaks, we view recovery as an ongoing process, and our three distinct phases of treatment allow our clients to continue to learn a specific set of life skills that will aid them in achieving successful recovery. This unique program provides a wide spectrum of treatment options and recovery services that will help each client continue her recovery journey while being able to address any road blocks that may be preventing her from being able to move forward in life. Our highly individualized care in a structured recovery environment provides our clients with additional support while they work towards being self-sufficient.
